Lagavulin 21 Year Old Islay Jazz Festival 2019

This year is the 21th anniversary of Islay Jazz Festival. As part of this year’s programme the organiser profiled some of Scotland’s most exciting young musicians, they also welcomed back musicians who had been the backbone over the last 20 years. These music programmes are complemented by locations, from distilleries to village halls & hotels, the Festival takes place with the beautiful Islay scenery as its backdrop.Celebrating the music festival, Lagavulin released a bottle, which has been matured in a combination of refill and charred American Oak Hogsheads before being bottled at 50.9%. Limited to 2,004 bottles, each bottle is marked with its unique bottle number, and was sold out very quickly at Lagavulin.

Described as ‘maritime, almost briny smokiness’ on the nose with ‘crisp notes of smoky bacon, eucalyptus and a hint of gunpowder dryness’, every fan of Lagavulin should not miss this bottle.
