A Tribute to Nature - Macallan Edition No. 6
The final release from the Macallan Edition series, Edition No. 6 takes its inspiration from the natural wonders of River Spey and The Macallan Estate. All of the five distinct casks types used were hand-picked by Whisky Maker Steven Bremner.
Flowing through the Estate, the River Spey is globally renowned as a home to Atlantic salmon. Macallan advocates sustaining the wildlife in and around the River Spey, and has been working with the Atlantic Salmon Trust, to help raise the awareness and to support vital conservation work. By teaming up with fly-fishing brand Hardy, Steven draws inspiration from the craftsmanship of Hardy as well.
Matured in American and European Sherry Oak casks, in total 393 casks are used for Edition No. 6, it is expected that the total number of bottlings are similar to Edition No. 2. On nose there are rich fresh fruits, nutmeg, ginger, chocolate and toffee notes, while on palate we are able to taste plum, sweet orange, cinnamon and notes of oaks, with hints of fresh fruits, spices and toasted oats lingering in the finish.
