Malternative - Marie Foucher 1977-2024 La Découverte Lot 77

Founded by whisky enthusiasts, Malternative literally means "an alternative to whisky." While primarily focusing on French cognac, it has scored high ratings on whisky review platforms, gradually gaining attention from whisky lovers.

In collaboration with Marie Foucher, a cognac producer located near the Grande Champagne region, Malternative has released the first independent bottling (IB) of Marie Foucher, distilled in 1977 and aged until 2024. Malternative describes the nose as jam made from cooked ripe fruits, full of fruity and floral aromas. The palate is gourmand and layered, with a lot of mango, accompanied by beeswax, leather, and mild pipe tobacco. The medium-long finish leaves lingering fruit and spice notes that return in layers.
